His handsome ovaline face has skin that appears clear and soft, his thin lips well hydrated; a look suitable for a play actor more than a war-weathered adventurer. His narrow eyes are deep-set and down-turned, giving an aura of serious sternness that could send a shiver down your spine if it weren't for his near-constant sunshiny smile complimented by adorable dimples. A long-bridged hooked nose and high cheekbones adds to his aura of elegance. A soft brushing of subtle and colorful makeup around his eyes make him all the more alluring.His hair:
Long, thick, wavy golden-blonde hair; about armpit length. Full of split-ends and flyaways, giving him what looks like a lovely golden halo in the sun. His hair is worn loose and free, oftentimes getting in his face like a wild child in spring.

It is only in battle does the smile of this ever-optimistic hero dissipate. Alus is not one to seek physical conflict, only ever resorting to it when he feels that he has no other choice.
Even the action of sparring he tends to avoid.
Alus’ motivations in battle are always to pacify, not to kill. His training has focused mainly on techniques to tire out his opponents or disarm them so that he may end combat peacefully and without bloodshed. If blood must be spilt, let his enemies be crippled instead of dead. But things don’t always work out how he wishes, despite his grandest regrets..He holds incredibly stubborn ideas of what ‘honor’ is when it comes to fighting. No tricks, no surprise attacks, no two-on-one, nothing. If Alus was to have his ideal way in war, he’d fight everyone on equal footing; bare-handed and bare of armor so that he may be hurt himself whilst having to hurt others, knowing the pain that is war first-hand, and never forgetting the suffering which fighting incurs. It is only due to the overwhelming odds and numbers he must face and the number of people he must protect and save that he shields himself and others with tools and armor, usually that of the Paladin.Alus’ upbringing as a street dancer has given him significant skills in quickness, flexibility, and freedom of movement. He has developed his own personal style of martial arts that is a strange hybrid of techniques based mostly in redirection and flashy dance-like manuverability. He has no dojo, no master, nor does he officially belong to any martial art guild. Most of what he knows about hand-to-hand combat he’s developed just out of viewing others and asking random people for advice.If Alus is not in the front leading the team, he is in the back healing the injured - and if that injured was fallen as an enemy, he does not care. Adopted by an Elezen as a baby, Alus grew up besides his twin brother in a travelling merchant caravan. His father treated his sons to countless tales of faerie tale heroes and the heroics of the Warriors of Light, which lit a spark within Alus that never seemed to falter even well into adulthood.
Whilst growing up on the roads, Alus discovered a special interest in street dance and entertainment for the extra pocket coin. With his brother learning the harp, the two of them entertained the passerbies of Eorzean roadscapes.The disaster of the Seventh Umbral Calamity cost Alus the life of his father. Leaving he and his brother at the mercy of foster care, the twins were passed around between one foster home after another, Alus eventually being split apart from his brother and sent to a private tutoring school.
At 20 summers, Alus left the school in order to pursuit his lifelong dream of becoming a "Warrior of Light" - coincidentally running into and rejoining his brother soon thereafter.The natural familiarity and teamwork of the two awarded them a small fortune of local fame in their adventuring career, soon joining the Maelstrom of Limsa Lominsa with honors. Whilst climbing the military command ranks, the two discovered themselves to have been blessed with The Echo. They have been aiding The Scions of the Seventh Dawn to defend their realm from Primals with other Warriors of Light ever since.Timeline: A Realm Reborn

| Does this guy want to get robbed?: •A guy dressed up in fancy silks and an obnoxious excess of pearls and gold jewelry - walking around some of the shadiest places in Eorzea like a lost noble. You may even notice him tip waiters far too much or be way too generous to some homeless person, knowing he probably has a large sack of gil on him. His clothes tend to cover his muscles, making him deceptively look like he could just be a slightly husky nobody. If you get caught, the worst you might get is a good bonk - he might even offer you the coin anyway, assuming on his own that you must need it pretty badly to rob someone. |

My favorite genres are noir and comedy; I love exploring the serious grim and dark psychology of realism while also directly combating it with sunny over-the-top campy optimism. The world is a joke and I'm its' clown. Ethical philosophy is my absolute jam and I could talk about it indefinitely.Due to a medical condition I suffer pretty severely from object permanance issues and general memory problems. FUNFACTS
The type of martial arts Alus uses is directly inspired by the real-world martial arts of capoeira and the fictional "breaker style" from Yakuza 0, as well as strongly influenced by the philosophies of aikido - try to imagine a fusion.
Alus' aesthetic tastes were inspired by the 1986 manga The Sword of Paros. Alus' chocobo, Erminia, is named after the main character of that story.
Alus' representative flower is the gardenia. In the language of flowers, it represents trust, hope, purity, clarity, dreams, intuition, renewal, alignment, friendship, innocence, protection, and self-reflection. (source)
Alus' initial visual design and ethics were inspired Firion's depiction in "Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy", while his personality was primarily originally inspired by Judge Harry T. Stone from "Night Court" and Vash the Stampede from "Trigun". He also has been heavily influenced by the Final Fantasy characters Laguna Loire, Snow Villiers, and Adelbert Steiner.
Alus' fear of slugs is an obscure reference to the author's favorite fictional character of all time, Lina Inverse.
Alus' voiceclaim is Johnny Yong Bosch, particularly inspired by his roles as Vash the Stampede from "Trigun" and Zero from "Marvel VS. Capcom" (click to hear voice samples.)
Alus and his twin brother Arc are named as a reference to Final Fantasy III; Prince Alus Restor and player-character Arc.
The word "Alus" can mean "a water vessal; ship"(Finnish, Estonian) or "beer"(Latvian). The French surname "Beauregard" means "a beautiful sight".

IntroductionArc Beauregard is the twin brother to Alus Beauregard and adoptive son to the late Gwenneg Beauregard. Like Alus, he works alongside the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and the Maelstorm militia to help defend Eorzea from threat.Arc has a special interest in diplomacy and law, and has actively worked towards Beastmen equality since the beginning of his adventuring career.He owns a bar located in the downstairs of The Merry Dodo Café, which has accumulated a small reputation for it's bizarre and dangerous cocktails.
Relationship to AlusLifelong friends, the two work together effortlessly in tandem. Despite this, the two are often seen bickering, where Arc's carefree and mischevious sense of humor is often seen reprimanded by his brother.This personality's value, however, shows itself in Arc's ability to be the only known individual that Alus is completely comfortable in the presense of to the point of allowing himself to drop his 'Faerie Tale Prince' persona completely while casually speaking to him.Though Alus may not care to admit it, they are extremely alike in personality when that persona is dropped, and this is seen especially apparent during All Saint's Wake festivities, where the two will go all-out in trickster-like fun.

How do you feel being offered a flower?
When you offer your hand to him in agreement or greeting, he deeply bows instead. You might notice that he tends to stand away from others by a few fulm. Reaching out to directly touch him, even if unexpected, is always effortlessly answered by dance-like dodges, reminiscent of the magnetic repel of an uninterested cat. Perhaps straight-out you decided to show your interest in intimacy with him, or perhaps you felt you were only given the go-ahead due to his habit of confessing his love at the drop of a hat.
